Suzuki Celebrated The 40th Anniversary Of Jimny

Suzuki Motor Corporation or SMC on Friday (9/4/2010) celebrated the 40th anniversary of the launch Jimny. This vihicle that has a name LJ10, first launched in 1970 as a 4 x 4 compact vehicle.

Jimny has changes the basic concept remains as a vehicle that was light, compact, easy to use, plus having a 4 x 4. The car itself is marketed in 188 countries. Jimny 4 x 4 first generation, which is also the first time in mass production, categorized as a mini car in Japan. Suzuki’s development has been carried out in 1968. But new products are marketed in 1970. At this time, Jimny used three seats.

The first version, use a canvas roof was fitted with a zipper, as it leaves the model,the weighs only 600 kg, and 1930 mm wheel axis. The first is called LJ10 LJ. LJ uses two-cylinder engine, two stroke 360 cc air-cooled and produces power 25 PS.

In 1974, Suzuki change LJ50 become LJ80 in 1977 became a 800cc 4-cylinder engine and produces 41PS power. In 1981, the next-generation is Jimny SJ410. This Jimny used 1000 cc engine with 45PS power.
